Roman Polanski co-writes, directs and stars in this horror comedy which also stars Sharon Tate and Jack MacGowran. Decrepit vampire hunter Professor Abronsius (MacGowran) and his ineffectual assistant Alfred (Polanski) travel to a remote Transylvanian village in search of the undead. Soon after their arrival innkeeper Yoyneh Shagal (Alfie Bass) is attacked by the ghoulish Count Von Krolock (Ferdy Mayne), who then kidnaps Shagal's beautiful daughter Sarah (Tate).

The hapless vampire hunters immediately embark on a mission to rescue Sarah but the Count has plans of his own in store for the pair and is eagerly awaiting their arrival...
