Barbara Stanwyck stars in this 1930s US crime drama co-directed by Howard Bretherton and William Keighley. Nan Taylor (Stanwyck) finds herself locked up in San Quentin State Prison after she confesses her role in a bank robbery to radio host David Slade (Preston Foster). While he harbours hopes of helping her turn her life around, Nan plots her escape from prison with the help of her former gang.
