Taika Waititi co-writes and directs this comedy drama about the American Samoa football team's quest to qualify for the 2014 World Cup, despite being known as one of the weakest teams in the world. After losing 31-0 to Australia and enduring a decade without any signs of improvement, the team hires troubled Dutch-American coach Thomas Rongen (Michael Fassbender), hoping that he can spark a change in their fortunes. Rongen, however, is struggling with his own problems and may need this team just as badly as they need him.

The cast also includes Oscar Kightley, Beulah Koale, Kaimana, Elisabeth Moss and Will Arnett.
