Harold Becker directs this American coming-of-age drama starring Matthew Modine and Linda Fiorentino. High school wrestler Louden Swain (Modine) has taken on an enormous challenge, fixated on his goal of losing 23 pounds to take on the undefeated state champion, Brian Shute (Frank jasper). Meanwhile, when his path crosses with that of a young woman named Carla (Fiorentino) whom he soon falls for, will she prove to be a distraction? The cast also includes Michael Schoeffling, Ronny Cox and Harold Sylvester.
