"It's a mad mad mad world" .... an excellent and entertaining movie and such an appropriate title for our present time ! Grab it wilst you can is my advice.

Image and audio quality on this blu-ray is also very good.

Shiping was very fast.

This has been a favourite story of mine since the first time I read the book decades ago.
While the BBC series misses a lot of the details and characters included in the book, it does retain the spine of the story as is hoped for with book to film transfers, them being different animals as it were. Some of the imagery, costumes etc could be seen as dated but that doesn't bother me. It's certainly not a reason to remake the story for mine. The triffid gun could have been left out but there you are. It is hard to second guess production values from decades ago.
Bill Masen was one of my first crushes, and John Duttine is perfectly cast in the role. Other casting is good enough, but this may reflect my early crush.
The Triffids, as seen in this production, are cracking and convey a sense of dread in a passive/aggressive way. They are fully realised and I suggest Wyndam would be pleased with the representation.
I recommend this filmed version of the story as I think it is very good and way better than other versions. Waaaay better.
