Italian supernatural horror co-written and directed by Lucio Fulci. When a priest commits suicide in a cemetery in the small town of Dunwich, the gates of hell are opened ready for the dead to rise and pass through. Journalist Peter Bell (Christopher George) teams up with Mary Woodhouse (Catriona MacColl), a young woman who has experienced traumatic visions presaging the end of the world, and together they travel to Dunwich to find the priest's tomb and close the gates of hell before it's too late.
