Winona Ryder and Christian Slater star in this black comedy directed by Michael Lehmann.

The Heathers are the prettiest, most popular girls at Westerburg High School, but they cruelly mistreat those who they deem to be socially inadequate. Veronica (Ryder), a reluctant member of their clique, is drawn to anarchic new student J.D.

(Slater) and when she runs afoul of Heather Chandler (Kim Walker), J.D. encourages her to exact revenge. This leads to Heather's accidental poisoning and death and, as their actions result in further deaths, Veronica realises that J.D.

has big plans for the school and that someone needs to stop him before it's too late. The cast also includes Shannen Doherty and Lisanne Falk.
