Young Oliver Twist (Alex Trench) escapes from the orphanage where he has been brutally treated all his life, and joins the gang of street urchins led by the rascally Fagin (Richard Dreyfuss). Oliver is trained as a pick-pocket, but ends up being caught for a crime he did not commit. However, this seemingly unfortunate accident brings him close to his real family.
