This romantic drama stars Marlene Dietrich as Bijou, a spirited and troublemaking singer who gets herself banned from numerous Pacific islands.

She finds herself at a tropical bar where she meets a handsome naval officer, played by John Wayne. Despite her wild past and his straight-laced military background, the two form a deep connection. However, their romance is complicated by the criminal elements surrounding Bijou and her frequent run-ins with the law.
