Children's fantasy set in Northern California's majestic Redwood Forest. Jasper (Tom Lowell), a two-foot high gnome, has been desperately searching for a suitable bride for his 900-year-old grandfather Knobby (Walter Brennan). He is delighted when he meets two children (Matthew Garber and Karen Dotrice) who agree to help Jasper with his problem.

Unfortunately an enterprising showman (Sean McClory) discovers the gnomes and quickly masterminds a plot to kidnap them.
