Jim Carrey and Cameron Diaz star in this comedy directed by Chuck Russell. After being denied entry to the Coco Bongo nightclub one evening, timid bank clerk Stanley Ipkiss (Carrey) finds a Norse mask in the river which transforms him into a wise-cracking, green-faced trickster. With his newfound charm and powers which include infinite malleability of his own body, Stanley is finally able to approach the woman of his dreams, singer Tina Carlyle (Diaz).

However, his exploits soon attract the attention of Detective Lieutenant Mitch Kellaway (Peter Riegert) and reporter Peggy Brandt (Amy Yasbeck), as well as Tina's boyfriend Dorian Tyrell (Peter Greene), a dangerous gangster with plans for the city. Can Stanley stop Tyrell and win Tina's heart?
